Join us during DIU’s Summer Term for focused training in applied linguistics, anthropology, sign language linguistics, Abrahamic studies, and world arts. DIU’s Summer Term is being offered both in person and by distance education (DE) this year, with most courses being offered in both modalities.

Modern Islamic Religious And Political Movements

The Abraham Center is offering a great course!

Learn about contemporary Islamic reform and revitalization movements, their rise and development, current status, and their impact on Muslim self-understanding.

Role and Reference Grammar

A framework for language analysis

RRG integrates syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and discourse. It is applicable to any language and has proven to be an insightful tool in analyzing language structures.

Sign Language Linguistics

These courses are ONLY offered during the summer!

The Certificate in Sign Language Linguistics consists of 21 hours (14 undergraduate credit hours and 7 graduate credit hours). Students can complete this training track in two summers as shown below.

Bridges of Communication in Muslim Contexts

Get DIU credit for this conference in Minneapolis.

This for-credit course is built around a four-day conference (can be attended via zoom), the goal of which is to enable effective witness that preserves social relationships for the transformation of communities.

Summer Courses

Summer Term 2022 runs from June 6th through August 4th. The course schedule for Summer Term 2022 contains all graduate and undergraduate course offerings.

During the summer, a student can take core courses and various electives for many different academic programs. In addition, several programs can be completed entirely in the summer; suggested scheduling for these programs are listed below. Note that a student must meet with an academic advisor and submit an Intended Plan of Study/Intent to complete a Certificate or to be admitted into any academic program at DIU.

Certificate in Sign Language Linguistics (this program is under development)

Financial Aid

Dallas International University offers a wide variety of Financial Aid opportunities to both undergraduate and graduate students. In just one application, students can apply for need-based scholarships, work-study, tuition discounts, and more! Most qualified applicants receive aid. The deadline for financial aid applications is April 1st. Late applications will be considered, but awards will probably be less after the deadline. So, submit your application today.
