I. Placement:

Students completing the End of Program survey for the 2019-2022 academic years indicated they plan on:

  • Leaving for field assignment – 54%
  • Continuing preparation for field assignment – 13%
  • Working or teaching in North America – 11%
  • Other – 23%

II. Completion Rate:

Dallas International University (DIU) monitors student success of retention and completion by age, gender, ethnicity, and citizenship.  For disaggregated data, click on heading links below.

BA Degree Program 

DIU first offered a BA degree in International Service in Fall 2014.  As of Fall 2022, 38 BA students have declared an intention to earn a BA degree at DIU.  79% (30 students) have successfully accomplished their stated intentions by completing the BA degree or are currently in process of completing the BA degree at DIU. 

MA Degree Program 

From 1999, when DIU first admitted students (as GIAL), to Fall 2022, 652 graduate students have declared their intention to complete the MA degree at DIU.  85% (553 students) have successfully accomplished their stated intentions by completing the MA degree at DIU or are currently in process of completing the MA degree at DIU.

III. Acceptance into Doctoral programs:

Since 2001, we are aware of 24 MA graduates who have applied and been accepted into doctoral programs, averaging just over one per year. In the past ten years (2013-2022) that number is 12. Schools accepting our graduates into doctoral programs include:  Assembly of God Theological Seminary, Australian National University, Dallas International University, Fuller Seminary, Hebrew University (Israel), Jackson State University (Mississippi), James Cook University (Australia), Ohio State University, Oxford University (England), Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Stellenbosch University (South Africa), SUNY Buffalo (New York), University of California Berkeley, University of California Santa Barbara, University of Colorado, University of Oregon, University of Texas at Arlington, and Vanderbilt University.
