About Stephen
Stephen Peterson joined Dallas International University in 2020 after moving to the area a couple years prior. He helps students connect with the larger school community, potential work opportunities, and is available to deal with questions or challenges as they come up. He also helps the Dean of Students with recruitment, orientation, and various other administrative tasks throughout the year. Stephen is also responsible for helping foster community among distance ed students and finding ways to help many of the on-campus undergrad students navigate the many challenges of transitioning away from home.
Stephen comes from a diverse background involving emergency medicine and supporting various nonprofits with their computer and infrastructure needs. He started a tech business right out of high school and has a long history of finding answers to difficult problems. Though he possesses skills in technology and other disciplines, his primary drive is to help other people however he can and wherever he can.
In addition to work in the US, Stephen has traveled the globe and trained individuals in several different continents. He prefers learning by doing and has enjoyed working in different cultures. Mentorship is one of his big passion areas, and he is constantly looking for ways to help other students however he can. In his spare time, you might find him hiking trails, chatting with friends, or composing orchestral music.
