About Timothy

Tim and his wife Lynley served in Bulgaria with American English Academy before joining Wycliffe Bible Translators in 1999. Tim served as the anthropology coordinator and Lynley served as the Scripture engagement coordinator for North Eurasia Group of SIL in Russia, Central Asia, and the Caucasus. Tim’s dissertation tested existing Scripture engagement models in the contexts of Africa, West Asia, and Southeast Asia. Tim and Lynley helped pioneer Freedom Ascent – a Scripture focused addiction recovery for oral audiences.

Tim is the head of the Scripture Engagement Research Initiative, a multi-agency program to deepen the understanding and practice of Scripture engagement and to provide scholarships to DIU students who wish to participate in important Scripture engagement research.
