About Richard
Richard actively served with Wycliffe from 1983 until his retirement in 2018. His primary passions have revolved around the development of people, organizations, and communities for the glory of God.
He has served on the staff of SIL Indonesia, International Personnel for SIL and Wycliffe, Wycliffe Asia-Pacific, and SIL Asia. Richard’s various roles have included CD Consultant, Regional Director, International Management Training Coordinator, International Learning and Development Coordinator, area level Leadership Development Coordinator, area level Coaching Services Coordinator. As part of these roles, he has helped in the launch of the L3 Portal leadership development program for SIL and helped design and launch the Growing Leaders program for Wycliffe Asia-Pacific.
Richard holds a Master of Science degree from Mississippi State University and is credentialed as an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation. He is also a licensed instructor with Creative Results Management.
He has trained over 200 people in the use of coaching skills in their various ministry roles and has brought this passion to DIU through the development of the Introduction to Coaching (IS 2323 INT).
Richard and his wife Brenda have been married for over 45 years. They have two married children and two grandchildren. His hobbies include fishing, roasting coffee, walking, and spending quality time with his family.
